Mayor's Welcome Page

Welcome to Aurora!

The citizens of Aurora and I want to welcome you and your family to our community.  We have a progressive and safe community. Please enjoy the many amenities that we have to offer.

Our city has an excellent school system and a well staffed and progressive health care system.  Please visit our Library, Golf course, Leadership Center, and a technology center nurturing entrepreneurship and startup businesses.

I hope that you have time to explore the center of our community, the Hamilton County Court House located at our historic center square, our outstanding Plainsmen’s Museum, the nationally recognized science center, the Edgerton Explorit Center.    I know you and your children will enjoy Cole’s Park splash pad, Streeter’s Park new aquatic center, and Lincoln Creek trails.

Our infrastructure is in place to accommodate future growth for our community.  Our downtown has merchants that are very helpful and provide a variety of shopping opportunities. We have a well staffed Police department and a strong volunteer Fire department.

The most important asset that we have in Aurora is our people.  I would describe the people in our community as hard working individuals that take pride in our community, and are inclined to volunteer. They will be very helpful in offering information about our City and assisting you as you explore our City.

If you have questions about our community please visit us at City Hall, located at 905 13th Street, one block south of the Downtown Square or visit our website http://www.cityofaurora.org.  The City Staff, myself, and the citizens of Aurora will always do our best to provide you with answers to your questions and assistance that you might need.

Sincerely,

Dave Long

Mayor, City of Aurora
