| How It Came To Be... | ||||||||
| The Kids Speak
A survey of 406 youth at the Senior High School and the Middle School was
conducted in May '95. Nearly all indicated they would like to have a youth
center and listed what they wanted. Of those surveyed, 178 indicated a desire
to serve on a committee to get one organized. The Rest Want It Too Results of a community survey printed in the Aurora News Register on October 18, 1995, indicated the second priority listed by the Aurora people was the need for a "Youth Center / Youth Activities". This seemed like the time to organize a committee and make some decisions. The Decision On November 9th, 1995, the Youth Center Committee of eight youth and eight adults met to make the final decision. The committee decided to rent the old VFW Club and name it "The Cellar". |
